FIFA have recently released the Woman’s World Cup “All Star Squad” with Lisa De Vanna and Elise Kellond-Knight making the team. The pacey forward De Vanna and the tireless midfielder Kellond-Knight were recognised for their efforts to helped Australia reach the Quarter Finals of the tournament.

Lisa who is Melbourne City’s first signing for their woman’s team was only one of two goal scorers in Australia’s World cup campaign. While Elise who currently plays for Turbine Potsdam in the German Allianz Frauen Bundesliga had a solid tournament for Australia with two player of the match awards.

In other news Australians Daniel De Silva, Rostyn Griffiths and Tomi Juric have all been recruited by newly promoted Roda JC. Roda JC which finished third in the 2014–15 Eerste Divisie season won their playoff match and are now competing in the Eredivisie against top European clubs like Ajax and PSV. Ultimately this move can only strength the competition for Australian national team spots.
